Today, On 17th September, At the She Shakti event, singer Usha Uthup directly questioned Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud about the Kolkata Rape Case, expressing the public’s demand for swift justice. This incident reflects the widespread interest in the case and the efforts of public figures to advocate for its resolution. The case involves the assault and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, with subsequent arrests and ongoing investigations by the Supreme Court and central agencies. The NIA court in Mumbai directed the agency to submit its closure report in the Nitin Gadkari threat case to the designated court in Nagpur due to jurisdictional concerns. The case involves extortion calls and threats made to the Union Minister. The court emphasized the need to conclude the case in the appropriate legal authority in Nagpur.
Today(on 26th April), The Calcutta High Court has directed the NIA to investigate the recent clashes in Murshidabad during Ram Navami, considering transferring the case to the central agency. The court’s decision follows a report detailing the use of explosives and weaponry, and it has set a deadline for the NIA to submit its report by May 10.
