Today, On 2nd May, The Calcutta High Court has asked the Kolkata Police Commissioner to submit a report on the heckling of lawyers, stating prima facie that criminal contempt was committed by interfering with justice and scandalising the judiciary.
On Thursday(4th April), The Delhi High Court has asked for an update from the police on the progress of investigations into the 2020 riots. Despite 750 FIRs being filed, 273 investigations are still pending. The court has demanded a status report within 10 days and emphasized the need for accountability and progress in the tragic events of February 2020.
