On Monday(5th August), a Delhi court dismissed BRS Leader K. Kavitha’s default bail petition in the Delhi Excise Policy CBI case after her counsel withdrew the plea. The special judge ruled the petition as withdrawn. In related news, the Delhi High Court dismissed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s plea challenging his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) concerning the Excise Policy matter.
The Delhi High Court today has reserved its verdict on Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea regarding the excise policy case. The CBI identified Kejriwal as the central figure in the excise policy case and has submitted its final chargesheet. Kejriwal’s judicial custody has been extended, and he has sought bail due to lack of new evidence.
Today(on 25th July),The Rouse Avenue Court has set a deadline of July 31 for the ED to provide hard copies of up to the 8th supplementary charge sheets to the accused. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and K Kavitha appeared via video conferencing, while AAP MP Sanjay Singh was exempted due to Parliament duties.
