Justice Shekhar Yadav of the Allahabad High Court warned that the growing use of mobile phones has reduced meaningful communication among family members, increasing loneliness, mental stress, and tragically contributing to a rise in suicides across society.
Today, On 4th July, Chief Justice of India B R Gavai assured that the collegium system will follow a fully transparent process. Emphasising inclusivity, he said merit will never be compromised and all recommended names will be duly followed up with fair scrutiny.
CJI B.R. Gavai, referring to Justice S.V. Gangapurwala not being elevated, said, “Sometimes things don’t happen the way we hope,” and added he will speak on judge appointments after his retirement on November 24, 2025.
CJI Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai shared a light-hearted memory from his early days in legal profession, saying, “Courtroom was packed just to see Hema Malini,” leaving the audience laughing warmly during the emotional event in Nagpur.
Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai got emotional while recalling his father’s struggles and sacrifices. With teary eyes, he said his father had “a dream he could not fulfil himself” but passed it on to him.
