The Calcutta High Court has reduced the charges against BSF soldier Constable Vijay Prakash from murder to attempted culpable homicide. After serving 11 years in prison for firing shots that led to a civilian’s death, Prakash has been ordered to be released. The court emphasized that the offense was not murder, but an offense of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
