The Supreme Court on Monday(11th Nov) dismissed former MP Prajwal Revanna’s bail plea in a rape case. Despite arguments from his lawyer regarding the specificity of allegations, the Court refused bail after a brief hearing. Revanna has been accused of multiple sexual assaults, leading to a significant public outcry and ongoing investigations.
The Supreme Court Today (Oct 18) refused to set aside the anticipatory bail given to Bhavani Revanna, the mother of suspended JD(S) leader and rape accused Prajwal Revanna, in a kidnapping case. Court refused to interfere with the Karnataka High Court order and junked the plea filed by the state government. Bhavani Revanna is accused of trying to prevent a woman, who was allegedly sexually assaulted by her son, from filing a complaint.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) filed a 2,144-page chargesheet against Prajwal Revanna and HD Revanna in connection with four cases of sexual assault and harassment. The chargesheet includes over 130 witnesses and forensic evidence. Prajwal is accused of rape, while HD Revanna is charged with sexual harassment. Prajwal was arrested and is currently in judicial custody.

An arrest warrant issued earlier by an Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate was stayed, with instructions for the police not to arrest or detain her.
