The Jharkhand High Court has instructed the state government to respond to a petition seeking an FIR against Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his relatives. The petition alleges misuse of Soren’s office to secure a mine and land for his spouse and sister-in-law, raising accusations of corruption.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on monday (8th july) challenges the bail granted to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, citing the High Court’s decision as “illegal”. Soren, accused in a money laundering case related to a land scam, was released on bail. The ED alleges his involvement in acquiring properties illegally, but Soren denies the charges, calling them politically motivated.
