‘Daiichi-Singh Brothers Dispute’: Delhi HC Orders Auction of Fortis Trademark For Rs 3,500 Crore

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday (Oct 29) ordered auctioning of the Fortis trademark in connection with the Rs 3,500 crore arbitral award passed in favour of Japanese pharma major Daiichi Sankyo and against the former Ranbaxy promoters. Justice Sachin Datta passed the order on an application filed by Daiichi Sankyo seeking the sale of the Fortis trademark, owned by RHC Healthcare Management Services Pvt Ltd which is one of the judgment debtors in the matter.

Borrowing Limit Case|| Kerala Government Paid Rs 75 Lakh Fee to Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal is set to receive Rs 75 lakh for representing Kerala in a case about borrowing limits. Kerala faces financial crisis due to restrictions on borrowing imposed by the Centre. The Supreme Court directed the Centre to consider a financial package for Kerala before March 31. The Centre has granted permission for Kerala to borrow Rs 8,700 crore.

Advocate Owning Dawood’s Property Threatened by Villagers: FIR Registered

Supreme Court Advocate Bhupendra Kumar Bharadwaj filed an FIR in Maharashtra, alleging theft and disturbance by villagers after performing rituals on property acquired from Dawood Ibrahim’s family. He pushed for inclusion of Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code. The property was acquired in a 2020 auction to establish an “anti-terrorist national front.”
