A Delhi court has temporarily stayed the criminal defamation case against Chief Minister Atishi, providing her with relief in ongoing legal disputes. The stay followed her challenge against a previous summons linked to allegations made by BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor, who claimed Atishi’s statements tarnished his reputation. Further proceedings are scheduled for December 2, 2024.
Following a blast near a CRPF school in Prashant Vihar, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi held the BJP accountable for the law and order situation, stating, “The BJP is responsible for the law and order situation in Delhi.” Forensic teams are investigating, and security measures have been intensified across the city to prevent further incidents.
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi was evicted from her official residence just two days after moving in, sparking a political conflict between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). AAP claims the eviction was orchestrated by the Lieutenant Governor at the BJP’s behest, which has been denied by the Governor’s office.
On October 7th, the Rouse Avenue court ordered BJP leader Praveen Shankar Kapoor to respond to Delhi CM Atishi’s revision petition in a defamation case. Atishi challenges a summoning order issued in Kapoor’s complaint, asserting that the BJP attempted to coerce her into joining the party. Arguments are set for October 23 and 24.

The Supreme Court Today (Sept 30) while hearing the issue of increasing green cover in Delhi NCR, expressed concern over a lack of understanding or intent to obstruct the court’s proceedings. Justice AS Oka criticized the lackluster response and questioned the seriousness of filing materials only in a contempt petition, raising concerns over the failure to engage with the court’s directives.
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) plans to file a petition in the Supreme Court on Saturday(28th Sept) challenging the “unconstitutional, illegal, and undemocratic” election of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Standing Committee, as stated by senior party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi.
The Supreme Court Today (Sept 27) adjourned for September 30 a plea by AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi CM Atishi which challenged the Delhi High Court’s refusal to quash a criminal defamation case by BJP leader Rajeev Babbar. The case was filed over their remarks on the alleged deletion of voter names from electoral roll in national capital in 2018.
Today(23rd Sept), The Delhi High Court dismissed a plea from former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, current Delhi CM Atishi, and other AAP leaders to withdraw a defamation case stemming from 2018 allegations that the BJP conspired to remove nearly 3 million voters. BJP leader Rajiv Babbar filed the case, asserting that AAP’s claims were false and damaging.
Today, On 17th September, Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister, resigned following a Supreme Court order, and named Atishi as his successor. Atishi pledged to work for Kejriwal’s return and urged voters to support the party. She emphasized defending AAP against conspiracies and expressed both gratitude and sadness. Kejriwal called for early elections and declared his quest for “justice from the people’s court.”
