Today, On 22nd October, the NIA charged Assam MLA Akhil Gogoi under the UAPA related to his role in anti-CAA protests. Gogoi, a critic of the Citizenship Amendment Act, has voiced concerns about cultural threats to Assam. He plans to contest the charges, which include conspiracy and promoting enmity, in the Gauhati High Court.
