NEW DELHI: 24th March, The Delhi High Court directs Delhi Police to submit a note on the role of accused Tasleem Ahmed in the larger conspiracy behind the Delhi riots. Previously, Delhi High Court has decided to list the bail plea of Tasleem Ahmed before the roster bench for hearing. Earlier, a special bench was hearing his plea along with other accused in the 2020 Delhi riots conspiracy case.
Devangana Kalita has petitioned the Delhi High Court for the preservation and reconstruction of her case diary, alleging police tampering with evidence in the 2020 Delhi riots case. The High Court has instructed the Delhi Police to submit a status report, with the next hearing set for November 25. Kalita was previously released on bail after multiple arrests related to the riots.
The Delhi’s Karkardooma Court started hearing arguments on charges in the 2020 Delhi riots conspiracy case. The prosecution stated the investigation is ongoing, but the court observed that the investigation regarding the accused persons is complete. The accused individuals, including Umar Khalid and Safoora Zargar, face stringent charges under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. The hearing will continue on September 6.
