In the Tamil Nadu dog breeding case, the Supreme Court told PETA, “We don’t want extra constitutional bodies to be involved in everything,” while hearing its plea challenging state rules on dog breeding regulation.
Today, 18th April, The Delhi High Court invalidated a Central government circular banning specific “ferocious dog” breeds due to lack of private stakeholder consultation. They ordered a new circular after public objections were considered. The Karnataka High Court also set aside a similar circular on April 10. The ban included breeds like Pitbull Terrier, Rottweiler, and Mastiffs.
