The Supreme Court, On Friday (6th Dec) in rejecting a PIL aimed at preventing active political party members from contesting bar body elections, emphasized that diverse ideologies must conform to the Constitution. The court stated no law bars such candidacy and highlighted individual freedom and responsibilities in professional roles, allowing the petitioner to withdraw the plea.
