Supreme Court Seeks UP Government’s Response on Bail Plea of Former Minister Azam Khan and Son in Machine Theft Case

The Supreme Court on Monday (16th Dec) has requested the Uttar Pradesh government’s response regarding a bail plea from former minister Azam Khan and his son, Abdullah, in connection with a 2022 case alleging the theft of a road-cleaning machine. The Allahabad High Court previously denied their bail. The Khans claim political motivation behind the charges.

On Wednesday(31st July), The Allahabad High Court has issued notice to Akash Saxena, an informant in the Abdullah Azam Khan fake passport case. Justice Rajeev Mishra has directed Saxena to respond to Abdullah Khan’s petition challenging the CJM Rampur’s March 19, 2024, order denying his request to produce evidence questioning the passport’s authenticity.
