Today (13th April): The Supreme Court is set to hear Arvind Kejriwal’s plea against potential arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on April 15. This follows his arrest in connection with alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy. The case involves AAP leaders and private individuals/entities and has sparked a legal battle centering on alleged misuse of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Today (3rd April) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently in judicial custody over the liquor policy case, began his day in Tihar Jail by cleaning his cell. He has requested a chair and is allowed home-cooked meals and prescribed medications. Kejriwal is in good health and has lost weight. He was also in Tihar Jail in 2014.
Today(on March 1st), Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in judicial custody until April 15, requested necessary medicines, permission to have specific books in Tihar Jail, and to retain his religious locket. His legal team also sought a special diet and a comfortable workspace. The requests were made as part of his transfer to Tihar Jail on March 1st.
Today(on 23rd March), A Delhi court has extended the Enforcement Directorate’s custody of BRS leader K. Kavitha by three days in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. Today (21st March): The Delhi High Court declined interim bail for CM Arvind Kejriwal in the ED summons case related to the Delhi excise policy. The court set the next hearing for April 22. Kejriwal’s summons coincided with election announcements, leading to arguments about political interference. The ED stressed Kejriwal’s personal capacity. The case stems from allegations of irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy.
Today, K Kavitha, a detained BRS leader, was produced before a Delhi court by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case related to the repealed Delhi excise policy. Kavitha’s arrest from Hyderabad and subsequent transfer to Delhi sparked controversy, with her stating she will fight in court. Allegations of political connections and bribery were also made.
