Bombay High Court Issues Notice on Abu Salem’s Plea for Sentence Remission and Early Release

MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court has issued a notice to the Union of India regarding a petition filed by gangster Abu Salem, who is seeking remission of his sentence and premature release from prison. Salem has been serving his sentence for his involvement in the 1993 Bombay blasts and claims to have completed over 25 years of imprisonment as per the terms of his extradition from Portugal.

Convict Abu Salem Seeks Early Release from Jail After 25 Years, Bombay High Court to Hear Case on March 10

Mumbai: Gangster Abu Salem, who was convicted for his role in the 1993 Bombay blasts, has filed a plea in the Bombay High Court asking for his early release from prison. He claims that as per the extradition agreement between India and Portugal, he has completed 25 years in jail and should be freed.
