The Supreme Court will hear Ranveer Allahbadia’s plea regarding multiple FIRs and anticipatory bail related to controversial remarks on ‘India’s Got Latent’. He faces death threats but remains committed to cooperating with authorities.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court is expected to hear on Tuesday the plea of YouTube personality Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as ‘BeerBiceps Guy’, regarding FIRs filed in multiple states, including Maharashtra and Assam, following his controversial remarks made on the stand-up comedy show ‘India’s Got Latent’. Allahbadia is seeking to combine these FIRs for convenience and is also requesting anticipatory bail from the police in Assam.
The social media influencer and podcast host faces multiple inquiries, including one from the National Commission for Women (NCW), and may soon appear before a Parliament panel. Despite this, Allahbadia sought an urgent hearing from the Supreme Court last week, which was denied by the bench led by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna.
Mr Allahbadia was supposed to appear before the NCW this morning but failed to do so, citing death threats as the reason for not attending. He later shared on social media that threats to his life and his family were making him feel “scared,” but he maintained his stance not to back down. In an emotional post on Instagram (@beerbiceps), he expressed his fear about the threats, saying,
“I am watching death threats pour in from people saying they want to kill me… hurt my family.”
While death threats are troubling, Allahbadia emphasized that he would not flee and had full faith in the police and judicial system of India. He cooperated with the authorities and remained committed to appearing for all inquiries.
The controversy sparked when his comment about parents and sex during an episode of ‘India’s Got Latent’ enraged many, including the show’s producers, hosts, and participants. Allahbadia, along with show host Samay Raima and participant Apoorva Makhija, received threats and were named in police cases. Ashish Chanchalani, another influencer, also faces scrutiny.
Police teams from Mumbai and Guwahati were sent to find Allahbadia, who failed to appear for questioning. So far, Mumbai Police has recorded statements from seven individuals but has not filed any case yet.
In light of the backlash, Allahbadia issued an apology for his inappropriate comments. He admitted that his remarks were not only insensitive but also not funny. In a video message, he said,
“I am just here to say sorry… it wasn’t cool on my part,”
acknowledging his lapse in judgement.
Allahbadia further apologized, stating,
“My remark about parents was insensitive and disrespectful and I am genuinely sorry.”
