This delay not only impacts these students but also others awaiting the final verdict.
Additionally, factors such as delayed counseling in various states and unrest in the northeastern region have hindered students from securing seats.
Advocate Amit Sharma, Senior Vice President of PUCA, has urged the government to extend the admission cut-off date to October 30. He pointed out that both the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the Indian Nursing Council (INC) have already pushed their cut-off dates to November 30 and October 30, respectively, and called for the AICTE to do the same.
As of September 15, the admission process for around 8,000 technical colleges in India has been stayed per AICTE regulations, leaving many seats vacant while countless applicants remain unable to secure admissions.
