BREAKING | Supreme Court Extends Free Wi-Fi to Entire Premises for Lawyers, Litigants, and Visitors: CJI Gavai

Today, On 10th October, CJI B.R. Gavai announces that free Wi-Fi, earlier limited to courtrooms, is now available to all areas of the Supreme Court, benefiting lawyers, litigants, and visitors for better digital connectivity and access to online services.

In a major move to boost digital connectivity at India’s top court, Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai announced that free public Wi-Fi has now been extended to all areas of the Supreme Court’s main building.

This facility, earlier limited only to courtrooms, will now be accessible to members of the Bar, litigants, and all visitors.

CJI Gavai said,

“I wish to inform the Bar that to enhance digital connectivity, free public Wi-Fi has now been extended to all areas of the Supreme Court of India’s main building. It will be accessible to members of the Bar, litigants, and all visitors. Earlier, this facility was limited only to the courtrooms.”

He also mentioned that lawyers and visitors can now easily connect to free internet from any area of the main building through a straightforward authentication process.

The CJI remarked,

“I am hopeful that this simple measure will benefit the learned members of the Bar as well as the litigants who come to the Court,”

This step is expected to significantly improve convenience for lawyers and litigants, enabling better access to legal research, online filings, and digital case records while navigating the Supreme Court complex.
