The Supreme Court advised the Balakot fighter pilot and his wife, involved in a bitter matrimonial dispute, to forgive each other and move on. “Do not lead a life of revenge, just forgive and forget,” it said.

The Supreme Court advised a fighter pilot involved in the 2019 Balakot strike and his wife, who are entangled in a matrimonial dispute, to “forgive each other and move ahead.”
A bench comprising Justices P S Narasimha and Atul S Chandurkar urged the couple to resolve their differences amicably.
The justices emphasized,
“Do not lead a life of revenge. Both of you are young, and a long life is ahead of you, and you should live a good life. You just forgive and forget each other and move ahead.”

This guidance came while the court issued a notice regarding the pilot’s petition to dismiss an FIR filed against him by his wife, an IIM graduate.
The pilot claimed that he and his family endured ongoing mental harassment from his wife and father-in-law. He approached the Supreme Court after the Punjab and Haryana High Court denied his request to quash the FIR.
The woman has allegedly submitted false complaints and cases against the officer and his family in multiple courts in Delhi and Narnaul, Haryana.
When she failed to receive any relief from the courts, she reportedly began filing repeated false complaints with senior officials in the Indian Air Force and the Ministry of Defence, as stated in the petition.
It contended that the FIR constitutes a significant misuse of legal processes and argued that continuing the criminal proceedings would be unjust in the interest of justice.
