Agar Malwa (Madhya Pradesh): In a shocking incident at the District Sessions Court in Agar Malwa, Madhya Pradesh, a lawyer, identified as Nitin Atal, engaged in a heated argument with Additional Sessions Judge Pradeep Dubey, leading to an unprecedented act of violence. During the court proceedings on Monday, the altercation escalated to the point where Atal, in a fit of rage, hurled his shoe at the judge, resulting in an injury to the judge’s ear.

The confrontation occurred around 4 pm during a case hearing. The situation intensified when Atal, besides throwing his shoe, also snatched away documents related to the court proceedings before fleeing the courtroom. The Agar police, upon receiving a complaint filed through the judge’s clerk, have registered a case against the lawyer under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including sections 332, 353, 294, and 506. These sections pertain to obstructing official work and other related offenses. A search operation has been initiated to locate the absconding lawyer.

The Agar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDOP) confirmed that an investigation is underway, and actions will be taken in accordance with the law. The SDOP said,

“A complaint on behalf of the judge has been submitted stating the lawyer misbehaved in the courtroom and snatched court proceeding documents. Investigations have been initiated and action will be taken as per law.”
