[Renuka Swamy Murder Case] Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, Girlfriend Pavithra Gowda & 11 Others Remanded to Police Custody

In the Renuka Swamy murder case, actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda, and 11 others have been remanded to police custody. Allegations suggest that Renuka Swamy died from injuries inflicted in an attack orchestrated by Thoogudeepa following derogatory comments Swamy made about Gowda on social media.

Bengaluru: A Bengaluru trial court, On Tuesday, remanded Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda, and eleven other individuals accused of involvement in the Renuka Swamy murder case, to six days of police custody.

Special Judge Vishwanath Channabasappa Gowder granted the police custody of all the accused persons until June 16.

The body of 33-year-old Renuka Swamy discovered on June 9. It is alleged that Swamy’s death a result of injuries sustained in an attack carried out on Darshan Thoogudeepa’s instructions, after Swamy made derogatory comments about Pavithra Gowda on social media.

According to the details, Pavithra Gowda. the primary accused in the case, followed by Darshan Thoogudeepa.

The other individuals accused in the case include K Pawan, Nandish, Karthik, Keshavamurthy, Nikhil Naik, M Lakshmana, Raghavendra (also known as Raghu, who is the president of the Chitradurga unit of the Darshan Fan Association), R Nagaraju, and M Deepak Kumar.

It has been alleged that Swamy brought to Bengaluru on June 8 after he had sent obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda. He then reportedly assaulted and killed in a deserted area of Pattagere. Subsequently, his body dumped in the Raj Canal near Kamakshi Palya late at night.

The Kamakshi Palya police received information about the body from local residents. After the body recovered, the police arrested Darshan Thoogudeepa the next morning from a private hotel in Mysore. Pavithra Gowda arrested by noon, and the other accused individuals apprehended by the evening.

A case has been registered against the accused persons under Sections 302 (murder), 120B (conspiracy) read with Section 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

The remand of Darshan Thoogudeepa, Pavithra Gowda, and the 11 others marks a pivotal moment in the Renuka Swamy murder case.
