Pushpa-2 Stampede Case: Court Relaxes Allu Arjun’s Bail Conditions, Permits Travel Abroad

The relaxation followed Allu Arjun’s petition seeking modifications to his bail terms. Earlier, while granting him regular bail on January 3, the court mandated his weekly appearance before the investigating officer between 10 am and 1 pm for two months or until the chargesheet is filed, whichever is earlier. He was also prohibited from leaving the country without prior court approval and instructed to cooperate with the investigation without interfering.

Hyderabad: Actor Allu Arjun, a court has eased the bail conditions imposed on him in the Pushpa 2 stampede case. The court has exempted him from appearing before the investigating officer every Sunday(12th Jan) and allowed him to travel abroad to specified countries. However, he is required to appear before the Station House Officer (SHO) of Chikkadpally police station as and when summoned.

The court directed the actor to provide the SHO with his travel itinerary and details of his place of stay abroad until the chargesheet is filed. Other bail conditions remain unchanged, as per the court’s order dated January 10.

Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case:

The stampede occurred at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, where Pushpa 2 was being screened. Following the incident, the woman’s family filed a complaint, leading to a case being registered against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management.

Police filed charges against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt) r/w 3(5) BNS

The complaint claimed that the woman’s death and the injuries sustained by her child were caused by the mismanagement of the crowd.

On December 13, Allu Arjun was arrested by the city police in connection with the woman’s death. However, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail for four weeks on the same day, and he was released from a Hyderabad prison on December 14, after providing a Rs 50,000 bond.

The complainant has brought attention to the woman’s death, alleging that it was caused by a “lathi charge” by the police of Chikkadpally, who were accompanying Allu Arjun during the promotional event for Pushpa 2. The stampede was reportedly triggered by this chaotic situation, which led to “serious injuries” to the woman and her two children.

The boy injured, On December 24, in the incident began to respond after 20 days. Bhaskar, the father of the injured child, stated,

“The child responded after 20 days. He is responding today. Allu Arjun and the Telangana government are supporting us.”

On December 25, Allu Aravind, a film producer and Allu Arjun’s father, announced a financial support package of Rs 2 crores for Sri Tej, the son of Revathi, who lost her life in the tragedy, as well as for the victim’s family.

After visiting the injured child, Allu Aravind told the media,

“After speaking to the doctors, we are very happy to know that the boy is recovering. He has been taken off the ventilator and is breathing on his own, and the doctors are very positive about his recovery.”

He further explained,

“To support the family and the boy for his future, we thought we should provide Rs 2 crores Rs 1 crore has been given by Allu Arjun, Rs 50 lakhs by the producers, and Rs 50 lakhs by the director.”

The complainant’s statement reads, “He has further alleged that lathi charge resorted to by police officials and lack of necessary arrangements, when film star Allu Arjun entered the theatre, resulted in the death” of the woman and injuries to her children.
