While excusing her for the day, the court mandated Thakur’s presence on April 20 and thereafter to provide her statement without fail under section 313 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), where the accused explains any circumstances evident in the evidence against them.
The medical certificate attached to the compliance report confirms that a doctor visited Thakur’s residence in Bhopal, evaluated her health, and recommended rest, as indicated in the hospital’s certificate provided.
The court stated,
“Based on the aforementioned report, it is evident that accused Number 1 (Thakur) is unwell and has been advised bed rest by the doctor,”
The court also instructed the investigating agency to promptly inform it of any further updates regarding the accused’s health.
Earlier, on March 11, the court issued a bailable warrant against Thakur for not attending the proceedings despite specific instructions.
The warrant later canceled on March 22 when Thakur appeared in court. However, she has consistently sought exemption from personal appearance referring to health concerns.
