Rajasthan: The POCSO Court-02 in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur has acquitted Jitendra Singh Gulia, a former Anti-Corruption Court judge, of all charges in a high-profile abuse case. The verdict, announced on Saturday(21st Dec), comes three years after the allegations surfaced.
The case originated from a complaint filed on October 31, 2021, in which a mother accused Gulia of sexually abusing her 14-year-old son at a local tennis club. The complaint alleged that Gulia, a regular at the club, befriended the minor and subsequently engaged in abuse after offering drugged beverages. It also claimed that Gulia used threats and intimidation to silence the victim.
The mother further alleged that law enforcement officials and other individuals visited her residence, pressuring her to withdraw the accusations. According to her, the boy disclosed the incidents after showing signs of distress for about a month.
Defense counsel Devendra Pal Singh, presenting 46 witnesses and submitting 61 documents for examination. After thoroughly reviewing the evidence, including key court reports C1 and Articles 1 and 2, Judge Akhilesh Kumar ruled that the evidence was insufficient to substantiate the charges.
