Today, On 24th July, The court rejected the anticipatory bail application filed by Prajwal Revanna. This decision comes after careful consideration of the circumstances surrounding his case. The rejection of his plea means that Revanna could face arrest if charges are formally pressed against him.
Bengaluru: A court, On Wednesday, denied the anticipatory bail request of former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, who currently facing multiple charges of rape and sexual harassment.
Judge Santhosh Gajanana Bhat of the Special Court for People’s Representatives dismissed the plea related to the second sexual assault case against Revanna. He is currently incarcerated in Parappana Agrahara Jail.

Revanna, the 33-year-old grandson of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, is being investigated by the SIT for four separate cases. He lost his attempt to retain the Hassan parliamentary constituency in the recent elections.
The allegations of sexual abuse surfaced after explicit videos, allegedly involving him, were circulated in Hassan ahead of the April 26 Lok Sabha polls. Following these allegations, the JD(S) suspended him from the party.
The first case, filed on April 28 at the Holenarasipura Town police station in Hassan, accuses Revanna of sexually harassing a 47-year-old former maid, where he is listed as the second accused, while his father, MLA H D Revanna, is the primary accused.
On May 14, HD Revanna released from Parappana Agrahara Jail after being granted conditional bail by a special court for people’s representatives. Revanna had been arrested on May 4 by SIT officials in relation to a kidnapping case registered against him at the KR Nagar police station. The judge granted him conditional bail on a Rs 5 lakh bond.
The second case, registered by the CID on May 1, involves a 44-year-old former member of the Hassan Zilla Panchayat who accused Prajwal of repeated rape.

In the third case, a woman in her 60s from Mysuru’s K R Nagara, who also a domestic help, alleged rape. Her 20-year-old son initially filed a kidnapping report on May 2, claiming his mother had been abducted. In this kidnapping case, the SIT arrested H D Revanna, who is now out on bail, and questioned Prajwal’s mother, Bhavani Revanna, who received anticipatory bail.
The fourth case, registered on June 12 at the CID’s cyber crime police station in Bengaluru, accuses Prajwal Revanna of sexual harassment, stalking, criminal intimidation, and violating privacy under the IT Act.
This complaint filed by a woman who alleged she sexually harassed during a video call.
