Celebrating 11 years of the Modi government, the Ministry of Minority Affairs on Monday emphasized the importance of the Waqf (Amendment) Act as one of its key achievements, noting that the development of central rules under this legislation is progressing well.
According to a ministry statement, all schemes are now managed through dedicated online portals, ensuring transparency and accessibility for beneficiaries. The ministry expressed its commitment to accountability, inclusivity, and effective service delivery.

The statement read,
“Following extensive deliberations by the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), the landmark Waqf Amendment Act was notified, strengthening Waqf governance and community welfare,”
The Ministry, On June 6, 2025, launched the UMEED Central Portal, a crucial digital platform designed to streamline welfare schemes and empower minority communities.
The development of Central Rules under the Act is at an advanced stage, which is anticipated to enhance the implementation of the legislation.
The celebration showcased significant milestones achieved over the years, reinforcing the Ministry’s dedication to transparency, inclusivity, and effective service delivery.
The ministry also highlighted the importance of rigorous third-party reviews and audits for all schemes to ensure accountability and improve effectiveness.
Emphasizing inclusive policy-making, the ministry noted that states and stakeholders have actively participated, with their insights integrated into policy frameworks to address real-world issues.
Secretary Chandra Shekhar Kumar pointed out these accomplishments as foundational steps in the Ministry’s mission to uplift minority communities.
