Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Elevation of Three Judicial Officers as Karnataka High Court Judges

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court Collegium on Monday (September 15, 2025) recommended the elevation of three district judges to the Karnataka High Court and the confirmation of one additional judge as permanent.

Recommended for permanent appointment

At present, the Karnataka High Court has 46 judges in post against an approved strength of 62, leaving several vacancies on the bench. The Collegium made these recommendations in its meeting held on Monday; the next steps typically include processing by the Union government before formal notifications are issued.
