HIMACHAL PRADESH: In a significant development, the Government of Himachal Pradesh has appointed senior advocate Shivendra Dwivedi as the Additional Advocate General (AAG) to represent the state before the Supreme Court of India.

With over twenty years of legal experience, Advocate Dwivedi brings with him a distinguished practice spanning across civil and criminal litigation, commercial disputes, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. His expertise is not limited to general litigation but extends deeply into specialized legal domains such as constitutional law, election disputes, and inter-state water disputes.

He has also handled several complex matters relating to land acquisition, and white-collar crimes, including cases under key legislations such as the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), Prevention of Corruption Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

This is not his first stint in a high-ranking public legal role. Previously, Advocate Dwivedi has served as the Additional Advocate General for the State of Haryana in the Supreme Court. His prior experience also includes acting as a panel counsel for the Government of India, as well as representing numerous public sector undertakings (PSUs) in judicial and quasi-judicial forums across the country.

His appointment as AAG for Himachal Pradesh marks a continuation of his service to public institutions, where his deep legal insight and litigation experience are expected to significantly bolster the State’s legal representation at the apex court.
