Today, On 2nd February, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stated, “The Budget 2025-26 reaffirms the government’s commitment to strengthening the financial well-being of the middle class.” He highlighted key measures such as tax relief, job creation, and economic growth. The budget also prioritizes affordable housing, healthcare, and education funding. These initiatives aim to enhance financial stability and improve the overall quality of life for middle-class families.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stated on Sunday that the Union Budget 2025-26 highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing the lives and financial well-being of the middle class in India.
Mehta emphasized that the Budget serves as a powerful trigger for increasing consumption and stimulating investments across all sectors of the economy.
He remarked,
“The significant amendments to the income tax rates demonstrate the government’s strong dedication to improving the lives and finances of India’s rapidly growing middle class, which now includes a substantial portion of the population that has been lifted from financial difficulties through fiscal and other measures implemented over the past decade.”

He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi properly referred to the Budget as a “force multiplier,” which will promote economic growth by promoting job creation.
Mehta stated,
“The Budget proposals present a comprehensive and forward-looking roadmap offered by the finance minister for the next phase of transforming the Indian economy into a responsible global economic superpower. This will be achieved by encouraging investments in new-age sectors such as electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, and cutting-edge research and development (R&D) for life-saving drugs, as well as traditional industries like shipbuilding and hospitality,”
He also mentioned that initiatives aimed at developing civil nuclear energy will bolster the country’s energy security in the years ahead.

The introduction of the ‘Funds of Funds for Startups’ with a contribution of Rs. 10,000 crore from the Centre, along with enhanced support for MSMEs, reflects a well-thought-out strategy for developing all sectors of the economy while focusing on positioning India as a manufacturing superpower.
He concluded,
“Overall, the budget proposals illustrate that ‘Viksit Bharat’ is an idea whose time has come and has established its presence on the global stage,”
