Rahul Gandhi Drops ‘H Files’: BJP & Election Commission Stole 25 Lakh Fake Votes in Haryana

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched an attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission of India (ECI), alleging large-scale fraud in the Haryana Assembly Elections. Gandhi claimed that nearly 25 lakh votes were tampered with to “steal” the people’s mandate and turn a likely Congress victory into a BJP win.

Addressing a press conference, the Congress MP said his party had uncovered what he called the “H Files”, a detailed report showing how an entire state’s democratic process was manipulated.

“We suspected that this was not happening in individual constituencies but at the state level — even the national level,”

Gandhi said.

According to Gandhi, Congress candidates across Haryana had reported inconsistencies on polling day, with vote counts and predictions turning “upside down.” He added that the party decided to focus on Haryana to expose what he called a “statewide conspiracy.”

The Allegations

Rahul Gandhi detailed the alleged irregularities, claiming:

Gandhi said this means that one in every eight voters in Haryana’s electoral list was fake, a figure he described as “shocking and unprecedented.”

Targeting the ECI and BJP

The Congress leader accused the Election Commission of colluding with the ruling BJP to manipulate results.

“A plan was put in motion to convert Congress’ landslide victory into a loss,”

he said.

“All exit polls pointed to a Congress victory in Haryana, but the final results told a different story.”

Rahul further appealed to India’s youth, particularly Gen Z voters, to take the issue seriously.

“This is about your future. I am questioning the Election Commission and the democratic process in India, and I’m doing it with 100% proof,”

he asserted.

The Brazilian model claims

In one of the most sensational claims, Gandhi alleged that a woman, “who turned out to be a Brazilian model”, voted 22 times at 10 different polling booths using different names such as Seema, Sweety, Saraswati, Rashmi, and Vilma.

“Who is this lady? Where does she come from?”

Gandhi asked, holding up what he said were documents proving multiple identities linked to the same photograph.

Following the explosive allegations, Congress leaders demanded an immediate forensic audit of the voter lists and polling data. BJP leaders, however, dismissed the claims as “baseless” and “political theatrics” aimed at diverting attention from Congress’s internal divisions.

The Election Commission of India has yet to respond officially, but sources said the agency may seek evidence from the Congress before commenting.

Rahul Gandhi concluded his press conference by saying the issue was “not about winning or losing” but about protecting the democratic foundations of India.

“If elections themselves are compromised, the idea of India as a democracy is under threat,”

he said.

Previous Developments

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing large-scale voter data manipulation in Karnataka’s Aland constituency, where 6,018 suspicious Form 7 applications for voter deletions were filed between February 2022 and February 2023. Investigators have sought IP addresses, device ports, and OTP trails from the Chief Electoral Officer but are still awaiting a response.

The probe traced the operation to a Kalaburagi-based call center, allegedly run by Mohammed Akram and his associates, who used 75 mobile phones to file fake applications, each earning around ₹80.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP and Election Commission of orchestrating nationwide “vote theft,” citing Aland as a key example. He claimed fake logins and software were used to delete Congress-leaning voters from electoral rolls, calling it a “hydrogen bomb” against the Modi government. The Election Commission denied the allegations, calling them “baseless,” and clarified that public online deletions are not possible.
