NEW DELHI: Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal launched a new notary portal on Tuesday(3rd September). This digital platform is designed to provide a seamless interface between notaries and the government, allowing for the efficient submission of applications for appointments, as well as the issuance and renewal of certificates of practice.
This initiative is set to streamline many processes that previously required physical documentation. With this new portal, central notaries will no longer have to rely on traditional methods of submitting applications. An official statement, detailing the significance of this development, noted that notaries will now enjoy the convenience of handling these tasks online.
Addressing government officers during the launch, Law Minister Meghwal emphasized the importance of this portal, describing it as a major step forward in the government’s push towards a more modernized, paperless system.
According to him-
“The introduction of the notary portal represents a significant advancement toward a paperless, faceless, and more efficient system.”
This statement underscores the government’s commitment to embracing digital solutions for improving operational efficiency.
The user-friendly design of the portal aims to benefit not just the notaries but also the general public once all of its features are fully implemented. The portal’s streamlined process will allow users to interact with notaries digitally, helping them with various legal tasks that otherwise would have required time-consuming visits to government offices.

Law Secretary Rajiv Mani was also present at the launch event, where he lauded the potential of the portal to revolutionize the selection and appointment process for notaries. Mani noted that the initiative would bring a much-needed boost to the speed and transparency of these processes.
He emphasized that-
“The initiative will enhance the speed, efficiency, and transparency of notary selection and appointment processes, while also establishing a digital storage system for all notary-related records.”
