NEW DELHI: Today, 28th April: During a recent court hearing, an interesting discussion took place about the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in today’s world.
A counsel, addressing the bench, said, “I have gone through Your Lordship’s views on Artificial Intelligence.”
Responding to this, Justice Surya Kant shared his personal opinion.
He said, “I have shared my honest thoughts on AI. I am not concerned about how others react. Even if someone criticizes, it does not trouble me.”
Justice Kant made it clear that he is firm in his views and does not get affected by others’ reactions or criticisms regarding his stance on AI.
Further in the conversation, the counsel expressed concerns about the impact of AI on employment, mentioning, “Many people are losing their jobs because of the rise of AI.”
Justice Surya Kant then shared his experiences from a recent international event.
He said, “Last year, I attended a meeting with the Chief Justices of Commonwealth countries. In those countries, there is no excitement about AI. They are far behind us in terms of technology, and we are much more advanced, but they are not making a big deal out of AI.”
This remark showed that compared to many other countries, India is moving faster in adopting AI, but at the same time, other nations are not treating AI advancement as something to panic about.
