NEW DELHI: Justice Kuldeep Singh, a former Supreme Court judge, passed away in Chandigarh on Monday evening at the age of 92 after a brief illness. Known as the “green judge” for his pioneering contributions to environmental law, his family announced that his cremation would take place at 3 pm on Tuesday at the Sector 25 crematorium in Chandigarh.
Born on January 1, 1932, in Jhelum (now in Pakistan), he graduated in law and began practicing as an advocate at the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 1959. He served as the Advocate General of Punjab from May to August 1987.
