Jodhpur, Rajasthan, March 11: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur, held a grand inaugural ceremony on Monday to welcome its new batch of postgraduate students. The event was graced by the presence of former Chief Justice of India, Dhananjaya Yashwant Chandrachud, along with other distinguished guests.
Speaking at the event, former CJI Chandrachud highlighted the critical role of technology and urged students to use it positively. He emphasized the importance of leveraging technology for the betterment of society.
“Technology can be used both positively and negatively. It is our responsibility to use technology positively for the betterment of people, as the government has created such a huge infrastructure for AIIMS Jodhpur. The knowledge they are gaining should be used for the betterment of the public,”
said Chandrachud.
Dr. SS Aggarwal, Chairman of AIIMS Jodhpur, also attended the ceremony as a special guest. The event included the ‘Pin Up Ceremony,’ conducted by Shilpi Gupta Dixit, symbolizing the formal admission of the new postgraduate students.

Just last month, former CJI Chandrachud attended the second edition of the Vidhi Utsav, the Festival of Law, Legal Literature, and Luminaries, held at the Constitution Club of India. During the event, he reflected on the intersection of literature and law, emphasizing the humanizing influence of literature on legal understanding.
“Literature, we may agree, humanises the law,” Chandrachud stated during his keynote address. He underscored the importance of looking beyond the written text of the law to gain a deeper perspective.
He also shared his personal experiences, mentioning how various authors and scholars had inspired his journey as a lawyer and later as a judge.
“The knowledge they are gaining should be used for the betterment of the public,” he reiterated, emphasizing the vital role of continuous learning and reflection in legal practice.
