NEW DELHI: Chief Justice of India (CJI) B R Gavai participated in the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute in Mauritius on Thursday, marking the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation.

The CJI, who is on a three-day official visit to Mauritius, offered floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi as part of the solemn ceremony.

A release issued by officials stated,

“The Chief Justice of India, B R Gavai, paid floral tributes to the father of the nation on his birth anniversary.”

The gesture highlights the importance of Gandhi Jayanti, which is observed across the world to remember Mahatma Gandhi’s contributions to peace, non-violence, and justice.

The event also saw the participation of the High Commissioner of India to Mauritius, along with other senior officials.
