Patna: On Wednesday, a transformer situated within the premises of the Patna civil court exploded, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, one of whom was a lawyer, while six others suffered burn injuries.
The incident unfolded in the Pirbahor police station vicinity, the heart of Bihar’s capital. Among the casualties was Devendra Prasad, a disabled lawyer. The explosion occurred during the afternoon hours, claiming the life of a notary, Devendra Singh, on the spot while leaving two individuals severely burned.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Town), Ashok Kumar Singh, disclosed that the injured lawyers were transported to Patna Medical College and Hospital for urgent medical attention. However, retrieving Devendra Singh’s body for inquiry faced obstruction as lawyers staged a protest, preventing authorities from conducting investigations.

In response, Singh affirmed,
