Arvind Kejriwal Arrest| Massive Protests Called by AAP Legal Cell in Delhi Courts

DELHI: Today(on 27th March), Related to the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the legal cell of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced a widespread protest across all district courts in the national capital.

Advocate Sanjeev Nasiar, the State President of AAP’s Legal Cell and vice-chairman of Bar Council of Delhi, has confirmed the planned protest.

He emphasized the significance of this demonstration, stating:

“The arrest of Arvind Kejriwal appears to be emblematic of a concerted conspiracy against him. Hence, the legal community has resolved to orchestrate a substantial demonstration tomorrow at 12:30 PM. We shall assemble within our court precincts to articulate our objections. Our steadfast solidarity remains with Arvind Kejriwal.”

The protests are set to take place in several key judicial venues across the city, including the Patiala House Court, Dwarka Court, Saket Court, Karkardooma Court, Tis Hazari Court, and the Rouse Avenue Court.

Since Kejriwal’s arrest by the ED on March 21, he has remained in their custody, sparking debates about the reasons for his arrest. The legal battle escalated when Kejriwal’s plea challenging both his arrest and the subsequent remand order was scheduled for a hearing before the Delhi High Court on March 27.

On March 22, the Rouse Avenue Court decreed that Kejriwal would remain under ED custody until March 28.

The AAP’s legal cell, under Nasiar’s leadership, is not just protesting a singular event but is voicing concerns over what they see as a broader issue of legal fairness and political integrity.

The statement:

“We stand with Arvind Kejriwal,” resonates as a call for justice and transparency.
