Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy granted the ex parte injunction after reviewing the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) certificate and confirming that Sun TV Network Limited is the rightful producer of Coolie. The judge stressed that allowing piracy would cause irreparable injury to the production house and all those involved in making the film.
The order not only restrains ISPs from facilitating piracy of Coolie on existing websites/web pages, but also extends to future websites that might attempt to stream the pirated version.
