The Allahabad High Court granted protection from arrest to celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib and his son in a multi-crore fraud case, offering them interim relief while directing the police not to take coercive action during the ongoing investigation.

The Allahabad High Court granted relief to celebrity hairstylist Jawed Habib and his son Anosh Habib by offering them protection from arrest in a significant fraud case lodged at the Raeesatti police station in Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh.

Justices Siddharth Verma and Achal Sachdeva ruled that no coercive actions should be taken against Habib and his son until the police complete their chargesheet in the case.

This legal matter involves allegations that Habib, his son, and other family members deceived investors into investing in a company called Follicle Global during an event held in 2023 at the Royal Palace Venkat Hall in the Sarayatain area of Sambhal.

Approximately 150 participants were enticed with promises of returns between 50% and 75% on investments in cryptocurrency (specifically Bitcoin and Binance Coin).

It is reported that investors contributed sums ranging from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh each, yet many have not received the anticipated returns after a year.

Investigations indicated that the firm had closed down, and the accused have become untraceable. The estimated total fraud amounts to around Rs. 5–7 crore.

So far, Uttar Pradesh police have filed approximately 32 FIRs against the Habibs and their associates, and a Look Out Circular (LOC) has been issued. Authorities are also examining potential ties to their operations in Delhi and Mumbai.

The court’s protective order remains effective until the chargesheet is filed.

Jawed Habib is a well-known Indian celebrity hairstylist, entrepreneur, and educator. He is the founder and chairman of Jawed Habib Hair and Beauty Ltd, which operates one of the largest chains of unisex salons in India.
