IMPHAL: Chief Justice Siddharth Mridul of the Manipur High Court highlighted how technology is changing legal processes, making them easier and faster. He shared his views and hopes for the future of Manipur’s judiciary during the foundation day celebrations on March 23, where new tech projects were introduced.
“This electronic filing system enables litigants and lawyers to submit documents digitally, ensuring that the justice process in Manipur remains unhindered by physical obstacles. It signifies our firm stance: distance or accessibility barriers will not impede the pursuit of justice in Manipur.”

Moreover, Justice Mridul elaborated on the broader vision for the Manipur High Court, which encompasses not only robust infrastructure for the district judiciary but also a modern framework supporting e-filing, hybrid hearings, and paperless courts.

These efforts signify our dedication to using technology to enhance accessibility, transparency, and efficiency in delivering justice for everyone.”
The event had notable guests like Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey and Justices A Bimol Singh, A Guneshwar Sharma, and Golmei Gaiphulshillu. It also featured the launch of important projects such as a virtual court for traffic offenses, a new e-filing system for district courts, e-High Court reports, and digital work management systems.
The virtual traffic court offers a digital solution for minor traffic violations, allowing people to file complaints, attend hearings, and receive verdicts online. It eases the burden on physical courts and ensures efficient dispute resolution.
The revised e-filing system for district courts, version 3, is designed to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of legal filings. By allowing electronic submissions of documents, the system eliminates the need for physical paperwork, facilitating faster case processing and contributing to environmental sustainability.

Furthermore, the launch of Digital High Court Reports aims to democratize access to legal resources, providing free access to advocates and law students. This initiative, coupled with the introduction of work management systems for digitization, e-Sewa Kendra, and AI translation projects, underscores the comprehensive approach taken by the Manipur High Court towards embracing technology.
