Today, On 28th July, The Rajasthan High Court has listed Salman Khan’s appeal in the black buck poaching case for hearing on September 22. The actor is challenging his conviction in the 1998 case that drew nationwide attention.

The Rajasthan High Court has scheduled a hearing for actor Salman Khan’s appeal against his conviction in a black buck poaching case for September 22.

Justice Manoj Kumar Garg will review Khan’s appeal alongside the state government’s request to appeal the acquittal of co-accused individuals, including Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre, Neelam, and local resident Dushyant Singh.

The trial court, On April 5, 2018, convicted the actor and sentenced him to five years in prison.

In October 1998, Salman Khan and his co-stars were shooting for the film Hum Saath Saath Hain near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. During that time, two blackbucks were allegedly hunted in Kankani village, which is a protected area under Indian wildlife laws.

The Bishnoi community, known for its strong environmental beliefs, filed a complaint under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

Salman Khan was named as the main accused, while Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam, Tabu, and Dushyant Singh were named as co-accused.
